In modern industrial production and large-scale building facilities, chilled water units, as core refrigeration equipment, undertake the key task of providing low-temperature cooling media for process production, air conditioning systems, etc. The stability of their operating status and energy utilization efficiency are directly related to production continuity, product quality, and operating costs.

However, the traditional management mode of chilled water units mostly relies on local monitoring and manual regular inspections. Facing complex and changing operating conditions and the growing demand for energy conservation, it is difficult to achieve real-time, accurate and efficient management and control. With the vigorous development of cutting-edge technologies such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), big data, and cloud computing, building a chilled water unit energy-saving monitoring system has become an inevitable choice to improve the intelligent management level of chilled water units and tap energy-saving potential.

 Solution

Wutong Bolian data acquisition gateway supports various flexible communication methods such as 5G/4G/WIFI/Ethernet. It can connect to PLC and smart electric meters, collect real-time operating parameters and energy consumption data of chilled water units, and transmit them to the energy efficiency management platform in real time, so as to display the operating status, key process parameter curves, alarm information, etc. of chilled water units and auxiliary equipment in real time. It also supports users to customize data reports and charts, facilitating the query and analysis of historical data, which can effectively improve work efficiency and management level, and realize remote and precise control of chilled water units.
 System Functions

1. Collect data from the PLC and smart electric meters of the chilled water unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and monitor the start-stop status of core components such as compressors, water pumps, and cooling tower fans in real time to ensure that the operating status of the equipment is clear at a glance.

2. Obtain key process parameters such as outlet water temperature, return water temperature, chilled/cooling water flow, system pressure, voltage, current, power, and energy consumption in real time, and display them intuitively on the monitoring interface in various forms such as numbers and charts.

3. Users can customize the alarm thresholds of various parameters according to the actual operating conditions and equipment performance indicators of the chilled water unit. When the monitoring data exceeds the preset range, the system will automatically trigger the alarm mechanism to ensure that equipment abnormalities are found in a timely manner.

4. Authorized personnel can remotely control the chilled water unit through the monitoring platform, such as starting and stopping water pumps, adjusting water flow according to actual needs; opening and closing valves, controlling the flow path of refrigerant or cooling water, and reducing equipment downtime.

5. Integrate multi-source information such as equipment operation data, historical alarm records, operation and maintenance work order data, and energy consumption data for multi-dimensional data analysis. By calculating indicators such as the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the equipment, a detailed equipment performance report is generated, which intuitively shows the operating efficiency and performance of the equipment in different time periods, providing a direction for equipment performance optimization.
